Tilapia has become the third most important fish in aquaculture after carp and salmon. It is a fast-growing tropical species, native to Africa, but produced in more than 100 nations, surpassing any other farmed fish. Tilapia can be farmed in either fresh or salt water. Most Chinese tilapia is farmed in ponds & processed alive.

Tilapia’s meat is very lean and white. It is neutral in flavor and is one of the most sustainable fish around.
